Dell T5500 cpu upgrade options
I have a T5500 with a E5506 processor, and rather than replacing the whole machine I was wondering if I could upgrade to dual X5690 processors? Aside from cost, is there anything about the HW which would prevent me from going from an single E5506 to dual X5690 processors? Any specific BIOS, firmware or motherboard issues?

It should be compatible with your machine - same socket. However, runs at a higher frequency and draws about 40% more power. If you ran, two, you would probably need a larger power supply. Do your research on potential problems.
