Dell XPS 600 Computer adding 4gb of ram

Is there anyway to add 4 gb of ram in the computer. This OS is Windows XP 32 bit, I have done some research and you should be able to add up to 4 gb of ram. I have the ram in the computer right now as I am typing. It does show in the Bios that there are 2 X2gb of ram. Please help. Even if I could get 3 gb out of this that would be great.

OK if you see 4 gigs in the bios then the ram is recognized and you have 4 gigs installed. Now with a 32 bit OS windows will report 2.5 to 3.5 gigs depending on system configuration.  SEE HERE for more info
