Dell XPS 630i Disable onboard sound.

Hi. I have a XPS 630 and I tried to go into the bios to disable my onboard sound and can't find how. Does anyone know how? Thanks Mike

On starting the PC tap the F2 key repeatedly to enter setup. Use the arrow keys to go to advanced, Integrated peripherals, HD Audio press enter to get the options, select disabled. Press Esc key until you get to the exit options, select exit saving changes, press enter Type Y if it shows N,  press enter.

As I stated in my previous reply, the entry is called HD Audio. in the integrated peripherals section of the bios. That is your onboard sound, the integrated peripherals are the onboard items. (the Realtek HD drivers would be installed if you were using it. If you wish, after disabling the onboard HD Audio and installing a sound card and its drivers, you can uninstall Realtek HD Audio drivers using Control panel, add/remove software.)

Hmm.  What I told him on the Audio section but the user reported it wasn't in the Integrated Peripherals section of the BIOS....

I have bios A13 (the latest one) on my Dell XPS 630i and I checked the entry before I posted.

I have the latest bios also. I was looking in the bios to find out how to turn off the on board sound. Mine does not directly say on board sound. Thanks Mike
