Hello Dell community!
I was messing around with things and I ran GPU-Z and noticed that my GTX 1060 was Running at PCI-e x4 speeds instead of x16!
As you can see, the thing supports x16, but the card is only running at x4
Can someone help me fix this issue or at least tell me why this is happening?

try running a load on the graphics card, and checking again.
spin up a quick run of Furmark or one of the Unigine tools like Valley or Heaven while GPU-Z is running and see what happens..
I can't remember, but GPU-Z might even have a stress button behind that question mark.pu

got back on my windoze machine and GPU-Z does have a little stress button behind the question mark.
But, my GTX 970 shows this at idle and under load.
idle: PCI-E 3.0x16 @x16 1.1
load: PCI-E 3.0x16 @x16 3.0
so I'm not sure what's up with yours showing x4

Tried stress testing, all it did was throw it to x4 3.0, still not x16. I might throw my 1060 into another computer, see if the problem follows the card.
Side note: Were you on a XPS8700? was there any expansion cards? is the wifi card installed?

XPS 8700. core i7 4770. Wifi card installed, but disabled. No expansion cards used.
One system has a GTX 970 and used to have a GTX 760. Other system runs a GTX 770. All run PCI-E 3.0x16 when under a load.
Here is a screen shot I posted some time ago in another thread.

Well this confirms that the 8700 is capable of running at 16x speeds, but still confused as why mine's not
When I get home, I'm going to try to reseat the card, see if that helps.

have you uninstalled the driver completely? And then re-install using the driver directly from nVidia?
I would use a tool like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)
I suggest downloading it from wagnardsoft.com, don't install from other sites as it may have bloatware with it.

This screenshot was taken on a fresh install of windows 10 as I was doing an experiment and thus had a fresh driver, it appears the same on my main installation. I'll give DDU a try anyways!
