Dell xps 400 won't boot after loading defaults

My xps 400 won't boot after the windows xp screen after I loaded system defaults in the bios. First it would say floppy diskette error, so I went to the bios and turned off the floppy drive cuz I don't even have one. Now it will go to a blue for like a split second then restart itself to a never ending cycle. Any help would be appreciated.

Try going back to system setup and changing your SATA controller to something else.  I don't know about the XPS 400, but the 410 came set to RAID ON despite having only one drive.  I believe the default is simply RAID Autodetect/AHCI, which could have something to do with your problem.  On the other hand, if you find it already set to RAID ON, try setting it to RAID Autodetect/AHCI to see if that helps.

Hey it worked! I did what you said and it worked perfectly fine. I know this thread is old and I got my computer working weeks ago but I think you deserve the credit for helping me find the solution. Thanks!
