Dimension 2400 Actual Maximum Memory Capacity??
Hi!
What's the actual max capacity for a Dimension 2400? I have seen "officially" 1GB but unofficially 2GB? Which is correct?
Here's my MB info:
1 | F1674 | BASE,MMT,2400,2.4G,533 |
Thanks,
mark

THIS IS WHAT I FOUND FOR MY EXP I KNOW 2400 ONLY TAKES UPTO 1GB PER SLOT U CAN TRIED THAT WEBSITE @ THE END AND IT SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT UPGRADE OR THE MAX OF RAM U CAN USE ON YOUR SYSTEM
Number of Slots:
Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
A: Possibly
How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about OS memory maximums can be found at http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.aspx?qid=4251.

The MAX that a 4600 can support is 4GB (400/333MHz)

Actually, 128mb is the minimum RAM, Dell installed in most entry level Dimensions, that supported single channel memory.
