I've got a Dimension 4550 (Pentium 4 2.53 GHz, 2.52 GHz 384MB RAM, DDR 333).  I'm about to buy some additional memory, and was debating my options between the 512MB and 1GB.  Everything I have seen has said that my computer will only take a max of 1GB, but I was just told by a Dell Tech Support rep that because it has the two slots it will take up to 2GB.  Dell's own specification page says 1GB max.  Does the max refer to each individual slot?  And it also says that it will only accept 128, 256, or 512, but I've seen a 1GB (4550 compatible) for sale by Dell. Can anyone help clarify?
