Dimension 4600 mobo dead

I have a Dimension 4600 w/a dead mobo.  No diagnostic lights on the back, swapped out to a known goof power supply, still dark.  Is there any other choice but to go to a new mobo with an N-socket.  I saw a barebones case with ab existing mob that will support the P4 for $55.  While I would like to stay with Del[, I'm wondering if its worth the premium, if I can even get a 4600 mobo.

Thanks,

Alan

You may find it easier and cheaper to use a Dell 4600 motherboard, if a non-Dell motherboard is installed, a new retail copy of windows XP, would be needed, as Dell's OEM copies are tied to their BIOS.

You can buy a Dell 4600 OEM replacement motherboard from HERE @ $79.99 free S&H.
