There's no boot record on this hard drive and its asking for system disk to continue. how do I get the file off the hard drive. Please help for my son who in pre med.....

Hi.
Welcome to our community.
The message” There's no boot record on this hard drive” indicates that the files are corrupted. Please let us know as to when exactly do you get the error message, is it while you boot the system? If yes, you’ll have to consider reinstalling the OS using an OS media.
