Dimension E510: How to enable "wake on LAN"?
Is there a way to enable "Wake on LAN" on a Dimension E510?
I've looked through the BIOS options (version A07), but can't find "Wake on LAN".

It has the capability.
Here is what the Dell manual lists for the BIOS options/setup:
Integrated NIC
(On default)
Enables or disables the integrated NIC controller. Settings are On, Off, or On w/PXE. When the On w/PXE setting is active (available only for setting up a future boot process), the computer prompts you to press .
Pressing this key combination causes a menu to display that allows you to select a method for booting from a network server. If a boot routine is not available from the network server, the computer attempts to boot from the next device in the boot sequence list.

My E510 has Vista installed instead of the original Windows XP Media Center. I can't test it until tomorrow but if it's working and Windows is in a "standby" state rather than powered off maybe it can 'wake on lan" activity (??).

Although I haven't tried it, I believe the computer will start from standby.
However, my goal is to start the computer from the off state (like the others that have "wake on LAN" enabled)..

Based on some Google searches PXE (e.g., at http://tinyurl.com/285ugpe), as well as the description in the Dell manual, PXE is for booting from a network server (instead of from a local disk).
The feature I need is "wake on LAN" (sometimes abbreviated WOL) -- which allows a computer to be switched on (from the Off state) upon receiving data via the network card.
Specifically, I want to start my computer remotely over the Internet using LogMeIn.
The BIOS's in some of my other computers offer the "wake on LAN" option -- and these computers can be switched on remotely using LogMeIn. But I don't see the option on the Dell E510 BIOS screens.
This link ( http://tinyurl.com/285ugpe) -- related to a Dell Dimension E310 (posted by nachovillain) shows a way to do it -- which I'm trying, but so far without success:
I was finally able to get Wake On LAN working for the Dimension E310 by downloading the Dell Client Configuration Utility and then using it to modify settings of the BIOS which were not exposed by the setup interface. I found this solution while searching a couple other forums where people with different Dell machines were experiencing the same problems.

I finally got into my E510 and I don't see any option to do what you want to do.

In the BIOS Power Management Wake-On-LAN option can also be named like: Wake On LAN, MAC Resume From S3/S4, MACPME Power Up Control, Power On By Onboard LAN, Power Up By Onboard LAN, Resume by LAN, Resume By WOL, Resume on LAN, Resume on LAN/PME#, Wake on LAN from S5, Wake Up On LAN, WakeUp by Onboard LAN, WOL (PME#) From Soft-Off.

I don't see any of those choice on the Dell E510 BIOS screens.
