Dimension E520: SigmaTel Problem

Hi there.

Just recently I have received Dell Dimenion E520 with Vista installed. I have wiped Vista and I have installed XP Pro. I have downloaded and installed all drivers from support.dell.com

I think that I have a problem with my Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio ?!

The thing is that I have speakers connected at the back and headset connected at the front.

When ever I plug the headset then there is no sound from speakers anymore?
I dont have any application that I could controll speakers (like front, rear, side)
Is there suppose to be a software like Volume Control but more powerful ?

In volume control: I only have WAVE, SW Synth, CD Player and Input Monitor.

I look forward to hear from anyone.

thanks

It is my understanding that once you put a headset in the jack it bypasses speakers.
As for the speaker set up, you can control the different ways your system is set up by going to Control Panel under Sounds, Audio and Devices and clicking the advanced tab. There is also a stereo headphone option under the speaker set up that you would probably have to switch everytime the headset was used. Hope this helps.
