The 3000 does not have any PCIe slots, you would need to install a PCI video card.

The ATI Radeon 9250 256MB PCI Video Card for PC would be fine for the Dimension 3000.

A question, how much memory, is installed in you 3000?

Compatible Video Cards for Your System ...

SKU MFR   Prod. Desc. # of Monitors Supported Connectors Max Digital Resolution Max Analog Resolution Co #1 Price
A1352535 VisionTek   RADEON X1550 256MB PCI 2 1x DVI 1x VGA 1920x1200 2048x1536 $128.99
A1133766 VisionTek   Radeon X1550 256MB PCI 2 1x DVI 1x VGA 2560x1600 2048x1536 $135.99
A0522296 BFG   GeForce FX5500 256MB PCI 1 1x VGA No Digital Output 2048x1536 $79.99

Insert these Part Numbers (SKU Number ) in the Dell Site and Get the Info.  The ATI Radeon 9250 256MB PCI Video Card is an Latest Video Card I don't think it will suite to your system.
