Does the Optiplex 760 Mini Tower accept Q6600?

I'm wanting to get myself the Q6600, and I own the Optiplex 760 Mini Tower. My motherboard is 0M858N.

I've had problems finding answers for this, some say it can, some say it cannot.

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks for writing to us. 

The system is not tested with Q6600 Processor. We have seen few customer upgrading the processors which are not tested by Dell , for few it worked and for few it was a nil to no luck. 

Q8200

Q8300

Q9505

Q8400

Q9400

These are supported by this model.

I've went on and ordered the Q8400. We'll see how it goes.

I have successfully installed the processor and confirm that Q8400 works on Optiplex 760 Mini Tower, motherboard model 0M858N A01.

My only problem is that "My Computer" and a few others report that my old CPU is in while it's the new one. Restart should fix it hopefully.

Edit: restarted pc, cpu working & great. Computer reporting q8400.
