Dual monitor capability?
I have an Inspiron 530 with G33/G31 Express Intel chipset, not sure what other info you may need to help, and would like to know if it's capable of a dual monitor set-up. I can't believe it wouldn't be as it's only two years old. Has only one port, it's a VGA port. Would a splittter work or would my computer not be able to handle it? Seems like this would be such an easy thing, but nooo... Am I screwed?! That'd be sad.

To use Dual Monitors, you would be best to install a PCIe x16 video card with two connectors, similar to THIS

So a splitter option wouldn't work? I can't believe this Dell didn't come with a dual output. Guess I never thought about it 'til now. D'oh!

If you are happy with a low resolution video signal, then a VGA splitter might work.
Sounds like you are using the integrated [onboard] graphics, instead of a card?

A VGA splitter will work, but you'll get exactly the same screen view on both monitors.
You'll need an add-in video card, as Bev. already suggested, if you want to spread the desktop over 2 monitors or to view entirely different windows on each monitor.

THIS PCIe x16 card should work well with the 530 Mini Tower 300w PSU and support two monitors.
You can find more PCIe x16 video cards HERE

Apparently. So, what card would you recommend? It's not like I'm doing that much to require an expensive card, just looking for more real estate.

Gotcha. So what card would you recommend to adequately do that? Something inexpensive that works well enough.
