E520, replacing processor/graphics, Heatsink cover is too big, need advice.

Nevermind, I got it off.  It will require a lot of sawing and cutting, and I'm lazy, so I'll just buy a new case.

good luck as that will not work either. Dell parts are propritary. Again you will need the same things saws and such and then you will no be able to interface any front panel to the dell as you will not find pinouts or anything like that.

Yeah, I kinda thought of that after posting.  I wound up cutting out part of the heatsink shroud, removing a piece from the back and cutting away some of the metal mesh, hammering out a useless nub that only serves to hold the case apart (there are a million of them, it won't be missed), and cutting/bending part of the metal on my gpu.  It fits, it all works, and now the system bottleneck is driving me crazy.  New processor, PSU, and fan in the mail. :D
