Enabling Intel Hardware Virtualization Feature in BIOS ?
Hi,
I am attempting to follow the instructions from Microsoft for Dell systems to enable the hardware virtualization feature of the E8400 CPU. According to Intel, this feature is supported on the processor. It is also required to deploy the XP mode of Windows 7.
I have an Inspiron 530S with E8400 processor and using latest BIOS firmware. There is no option to enable this feature on the Setup screen.
Has anyone else attempted this or found a solution?
Thanks !

Hello,
The setup guide for the BIOS is HERE.
<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>
You can see visualization under "Advanced BIOS Features", and it is listed as enabled by default.

At least some E8400 CPUs ship without VT. You should run the Intel processor ID utility to verify that VT is supported on your specific chip:

Thanks all...I did check and saw it was enabled !! I must have looked too quickly at the BIOS screen and didnt realize that there was a menu behind the option.
I appreciate the help !

Dell Desktops are Not VMWARE servers and VMWARE is not supported here.
