Expanding Ram

I am intending upgrading my ram from 4 to 8 gig Dell has 2 types of memory expansion for the XPS 730 on offer that it states are compatible with the model.

Corsair 8 gig for $90.00 or the Dell Certified replacement 8 gig $124.00

The only difference I can see in the specs is that the Dell is upgrade specific and memory speed of 1333MHz (PC3-10600)

Whereas the Dominator is generic the memory speed is the same but (PC3-10666) I do not understand which of the two PC figures if either are better or mean anything significant. The Dominator has a Latency Timing CL9 (9-9-9-24) This information is not given in the Spec.of the Dell upgrade so I have no comparison.

With a saving of $34.00 I am obviously considering the Dominator however, I would appreciate any advice from someone more experienced before I make the purchase.

Thank you.

Hi Rebby27,

Today's DDR3-1333 has a peak bandwidth of 10666 MHz, which can be improperly rounded down and called PC3-10600, rounded up to be called PC3-10700 or stated without rounding as PC3-10666 depending on the manufacturer's desires. So both the Module names are same.
