IMHO..... on a mchine of XPS caliber, it is well worth it.

I got mine with a 4-year warranty.

 

In the past buying the service has paid off well for me....

Dell on one occasion even exchanged a laptop for me with a newer, faster, better model.

You can get a quote and order an extended warranty on-line from Dell.

I did the 1 year with my 630. But with the way things are going I am going to upgrade the warranty.

I'm wondering if an extended warranty is worth it for an Inspiron 5160 that is 4 yrs old. Expires 10-1.  Still working ok. Previously replaced HD, CD/DVD drive and motherboard under warranty. Its about $156 to extend. I'm not planning to buy a new one any time soon as this one seems to be working ok and doing what I need it to.

Naw In your case it is not worth it.
