FULL upgrade Dell Studio 540

Hi, this is a dumb question.... i would like to strip all the parts in the chasssis, and fit in new mobo intel 1150, cpu i7, psu, gpu r9 280x, ram and etc

is this do-able? becasue im fine the the chassis, i dont need new chassis?

my main concern is the size of the motherboard vs the size of the chassis, and same with the psu?

is it standard that all motherboard and psu will fit in all type of chassis? especailly with the studio 540 chassis

any help would be very much appreciated

Just to save the money on a case?

Yes, it's doable provided the CPU cooler mounting bosses align with the holes in the new motherboard..
