Failing NVidia 7900GS on Dimension 9150 - suggestions for replacement eagerly sought!
Greetings. I have an old Dimension 9150 used by my wife for basics, eg surfing, email, MS Office, but no gaming or other high graphic demand. The original NVidia 7900 GS is now beginning to fail. I'd appreciate any suggestions for a replacement card - nothing top end/expensive please. I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.
Specs as shipped (Pentium D 3.20GHz, Win XP 32bit) apart from following upgrades:
4 GB Memory DDR2 SDRAM
Corsair VX 450w
Many thanks for your help

Heruka,
Any of the low to mid-grade PCIe x16 1.0a/1.1 video cards should work. Way back, the users on the Forum said the following would work:
Geforce 7900GTX/7800GTX/6800/7900GS, AMD X600XT
I am not sure if those cards are still available but check newegg.

Thanks for your replies, Chris and Speedstep.
I have seen the following and wonder whether it would fit into and run in my Dimension 9150?
Asus GeForce GT 610 Silent Nvidia Graphics Card (2GB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, HDMI, DVI-I, VGA, Low Profile Design, 0dB Silent Cooling.
Dimension 9150 has a Pentium D 3.20 GHz, 4GB DDR2 SDRAM, and a Corsair VX 450w PSU – otherwise components as originally supplied by Dell.

Many thanks for your speedy reply. I've ordered a GT 610 card this afternoon and will post some feedback re card fits/works or not once I've received and (attempted to) fitted it.

Fitted the GT 610 card this evening and the computer is working fine. Nice and quiet as well with 0dB Silent Cooling.
Many thanks for your help.
