Fan problem?
Hi,
I recieved delivery of a dell 4600 a week ago. Within the past few days occasionally the computer makes a strange noise. I think this is the fan because when i apply light pressure to the back of the casing the vibrating noise stops. Is there anything that I can do or if the problem persists will I need to call out a Dell technician?
Also I have a problem with standby mode. I put the computer into standby and seem to be able to revive the computer (it starts making noises again) but the monitor (17" ultrasharp flat panel, digital connection) doesnt come back to life. How can I resolve this?

You should open the system and see if you can tell where the sound is coming from to see if a hardware component is loose or maybe needs to be cleaned or even replaced.
As for the monitor try changing your power management settings to see if that helps.
