Graphics Card Upgrade for Inspiron 620S

I have a Dell Inspiron 620S desktop from 2011, specifications will be listed below. I edit videos mildly (once or twice a week for about 3 hours or less) and I want to update my graphics card because some times the current AMD Radeon HD 6450 card crashes after I edit and then run the computer afterwards.

Specifications:

  • Computer brand: Dell Inspiron 620s (Slim Tower)
  • Processor: Intel i5 2320 @ 3.00GHz
  • RAM: 6.00 GB
  • OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit
  • Motherboard: Dell Inc. 0GDG8Y A04
  • GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6450 (1.00GB)
  • PSU: 300W

Thanks.

I did that and it has solved the crashes, but I would like to upgrade to a higher performance graphics card, so I don't run into the trouble of only being able to run one program at a time. Like when Internet explorer is open and I am editing the previous drivers have crashed.

You might try installing the latest chipset drivers straight from Intel's site and the latest Catalyst drivers from AMD's site.

That's not a problem with the graphics card; more likely, that's a bad Internet Explorer plug-in.

I used an Optiplex 960 SFF as a development workstation, and would have all kinds of tools and applications running simultaneously, including multiple Visual Studio 2010 projects open.
