Green bars and crashing Flash plugin on Inspiron One 2320

I have an Inspirion One 2320 that is having strange problems with Flash. When watching a video on YouTube, about 75% of the time it will have a big green bar across the top of it. If I try to put it into full screen mode, the browser hangs and eventually the plugin crashes.

I found a work around by turning off hardware acceleration on the video, but this is a brand new computer, I shouldn't have to do that.

It currently has the latest video drivers for both the Intel built in and the nVidia discreet from Dell's site. There is a newer version of the nVidia driver on their site, but it will not install and says no compatible hardware is installed.

My guess is it has something to do with the hybrid Intel/nVidia setup?

Hi,

Welcome to Dell Community forum. It appears to be an issue with Internet Explorer, flash player or video drivers. I would like to know few things first so that I can help you in a better manner. I would like to know whether it ever worked properly on the system or is it working that way since day 1.

Which browser are you using on your computer, is it IE/Mozilla/Google Chrome?

Have you tried to reset the browser and did you reinstall the flash player?

Have you tried installing latest video drivers on your computer?

You can also follow these steps to isolate the issue:

1. Install another browser like Google chrome and check if you get the issue or not, u can download the browser from http://bit.ly/Iqcfg3 .

2. If it works then follow this link to reset Internet explorer  http://bit.ly/ry0f

3. Uninstall flash player from http://bit.ly/ytw1wA and restart the comp

4. Re-install the flash player from http://bit.ly/mwfN1 .

If the issue persists even after installing another browser then follow this link http://bit.ly/M3B0na to uninstall the video drivers of NVidia from the computer and then restart the comp and install the latest driver from NVidia website. Here is the link to download the latest drivers of NVidia

http://bit.ly/YZsm

If you don’t have the model number of the graphic card than you can simply click on automatically find driver option on the above mention link.

If issue still persist than please call Dell Tech Support at 1800-624-9896 for the hardware troubleshooting.

Thanks,

Vidur A

No, the issue is not resolved yet and I haven't had time to call in to support. I too tried all the suggestions above, but like I mentioned in the first post, the latest NVIDIA drivers refuse to install.

I have the exact same Issue as explained by the previous user.  I tried upgrading the Video driver from Nvidia I got the same response as the previous user.

1. The problem persists on Firefox and Explorer

2. I uninstalled Firefox and resinstalled ver 13 with the same results.

3. I uninstalled flash and reinstalled nothing seems to matter.

4. I have had this issue from day one. The computer is less than a month old. My friend also has the same system with the same problem.

If the old user resolved the issue, would you kindly post the answer.

I am also experiencing the same problem.  Purchased 8 of these systems and all have the same issues.  Did the steps above, checked for the latest drivers, removed flash, reset IE settings and re-installed flash.  The problem happens in IE9, did not try Firfiox, but it did not happen in Chrome.  If you reboot the computer in safe mode with Networking it does not happen.  I have seen a couple of other forums that list this exact problem and there is no solution as of yet.  I will monitor those and this one and post a fix if one is available.

Fro some reason, i have not encountered it much with Chrome.  But the problem is there with Firefox and explorer.

This is not a fix, just an observation.

Hello all, I have found the source of the problem. When watching youtube videos, the computer uses the Intel chip (which is useless) instead of using the NVIDIA chip. So the best way to solve this problem is to make sure that all the programs (iexplorer, adobe flash) run with NVIDIA chip. Applause

zone_rider91,

And how do you ensure that the application chooses the Nvidia GeForce GT525M Graphics?

sfahs,

See if this works.

* Open the NVIDIA Control Panel
* Select Manage 3D Settings
* Under the Global Settings tab, select High-performance NVIDIA processor
* Click Apply- OK
* Close the NVIDIA Control Panel
