HELP - Ethernet Controller dell 2400

My dad passed away and gave that to me, been sitting in the closet for few years, decided to go ahead and use this computer.  Ethernet Controller on yellow mark, tried to download all of those driver R47822, R52043,R64645, R73044,R94481,R98291,R61220,R70165,R76562,R96001, and R133409.  I have open all those driver and extract it.  Nothing seems to work at all.  When I go to safe mode, network adapter shows on device manager, but when im using regular mode, network adapter was not on device manager....   What am i missing ?

Without knowing the background on that PC and whether it's had the Windows XP reinstalled, it's hard to say.  I would suspect it's been incorrectly reinstalled at one point.

First step, verify the Integrated Ethernet device is enabled in the BIOS (F2 Setup at power on).  Then, after Windows starts reinstall the Intel Motherboard Chipset Drivers.  On a reinstall the chipset drivers MUST be installed BEFORE any device drivers can be installed.  Then try the correct driver listed in the Dimension 2400 downloads for Windows XP.

Vista/Win 7 is not supported on this model, and there are no compatible Dell drivers.

To clarify, Vista/Windows 7 was not tested nor are they supported by Dell for this long-discontinued model, but both will work. The 2350, an earlier model, has Windows 7 drivers available for everything apart from the onboard video, but this may not hold  true for the 2400.

If the network adapter is showing in Safe Mode, that suggests that it's enabled. The Broadcom 4401 network adapter driver for XP can be downloaded here.
