Hardware completion

On February 26th I ordered two desktop machines (one with a 20" LCD monitor). I initially received confirmation e-mail saying that the order was approved and that the order would be sent by 04/14. I thought it was a typo, and that they meant 03/14. They sent the surge protectors that were part of the order first within a few days, but UPS delivered them to the wrong address. I informed Dell, and they are replacing the order.

I know I still have a few days before the 14th, but I'm curious if it's not here by Mon the 15th if I should just cancel the order and just buy in store? I've build systems before, and I see no reason why it should take a month and a half to build a system. I was hoping to have my son's machine setup before his birthday, but it's too late for that.
