Has anyone taken delivery of the New Studio XPS 435/8000/9000?

I have one on order with the delivery date of 4/1/09.  If anyone has been shipped theirs and had time to put it through it's paces, please comment on what you think. If not please post your expected ship dates so we will know who will be the first to comment!

Thanks!

Ehindy,

Congrats on the good news! That is quite a long time to wait. I hope Dell upgraded the shipping as a result of the wait!

If your order included a Radeon 4850 video card expect further delays.  If you try to place an order for just the video card it says they are temporarily out of stock.  Hopefully, once these come in all of you still waiting will start to see some progress.  I have been a loyal Dell customer for many years.  My last 6 computers were all Dell.  When Dell anounced the new XPS 435T with the i7 processor I pulled the trigger to update my currect Dell 9100 P4.  I have a lot of video tape to transfer to DVD so I was excited about getting one of these to make the process go much quicker.  However, after waiting 6 weeks and still no confirmed ship date I had to cancel and go elsewhere.  The only reason I state this is I want  Dell to realize that they are loosing loyal customers due to their problems.  I know my one order isn't going to affect their bottom line, but if more people start jumping ship it will.  Some people have orders well over 6 weeks old with little communication except for the weekly delay emails.  This is a poor way of treating customers.  Dell WAKE UP!

**** GOOD NEWS 435 MT OWNERS *****

I just received confirmation my 435MT has shipped!!  Ordered on 2/10, it shipped FEDEX overnight today.   I will update you when it's received and put through the vigorous tests I've planned!

MT-less in Michigan (no longer)

It's good to know that you are getting your system Finally!

However, 2 Freeaking months!!!??? I think that is too much. Do you guys realize that in 2 months, with the same amount of money that you initially paid for the original system, you could get a much better configuration today? This is ridiculous!

Another delay, order delivery just changed again from 4/20 to 4/27. This is my 5th delay.   I get the impression Dell wants me to cancel.  Pretty pathetic.

koam, I'm sorry to hear that. 5th delay??? That IS pathetic! When did you order?

I guess you're closer to the shipping plant.  Where are you located?  I'm in Coachella, CA.

Yesterday, I checked my order status online and it read estimated delivery date 4/15/2009.   I had talked with a CSR 10 days ago who checked and got back to me with info that my original delivery date of 4/15/2009 would actually be 4/14/2009.  I have never received a delay email, and until today my online status hasn't changed since day 1.

My online status as of this morning is now with a delivery date of 4/22/2009.

I placed my order on 3/30/09
estimated delivery date 4/22/2009 (updated)  - my order is next business day delivery.
This date was updated today from my original delivery date of 4/15/2009
Today, the automated order #  says that it is currently in the Build Stage.

SPECS:4870, bluray drive, Dell consumer keyboard, 6g,920, 750g etc.

Well, I guess others have waited longer, so I'll be patient.

Hydroxide,

Don't feel bad, the majority of us have been misinformed!

It appears the Dell staff are misinformed also or instructed to tell the customers what they want to hear. :emotion-6:
