Having Problems Playing Dvd

Hello,

I am having problems playing a dvd on my Dell Computer. It has a VLC media player. I am trying

to  play a dvd  called 'The Complete Theory Test' which is helping me revise for my theory test.

It says it is PC DVD- ROM compatible. I am having problems as it will not play on my desktop

         computer or my dvd player.

The VLC Media player on my dell computer keeps coming up with the message:

' Your imput can't be opened': VLC is unable to open the MRL dvd://d:#1:1

         check the log for details.

what is going wrong?   I am able to play other dvds fine.

Your help would be much appreciated. Thankyou Helen Reynolds

If it won't play on a regular DVD player, you have problems.

Are you sure it is meant for NTSC?

Sorry what does NTSC stand for? It says on the front of the Dvd cover it is 'PC DVD- ROM' compatible. I also bought another Theory test dvd and couldn't play that either so I had to take it back to the shop.

Its strange that I wasn't able to play either dvd's and they are both on the same subject.

There is something I am not doing right. Because I can play other dvds fine.

It says it is suitable to play on a computer so why am I having problems? Thanks Any help would be much appreciated.

No idea.

If the drive is able to play other DVDs then there is something about Theory test DVDs - whatever they are -that the drive doesn't like. Try those in another PC.

This is a copy protected CSS encrypted DVD Application. VLC will not play this disk. InterActual Player, known originally as PC Friendly  does not work on all pc's all os all years forever and ever. It died a slow death and lost support in 2008 before windoze 7.

The dell forum is also not the pirated DVD Burned copy support forum.

Not playing in a Player and a PC is a bad sign.

This is not a movie. VLC is a MOVIE Player not DVD APPLICATION player.  Web enabled "features" require Java and Flash and DVD Codec and lots of other things including Internet explorer 11 etc.  You cant get there from here on XP because IE8 is max for xp and XP is no longer supported.

You are going to have to pay for a complete package like Power DVD.

VLC issues are not Dell Issues.

You did not provide ANY information such as OS version and Dell Model and Video card version and how much ram etc.
