How do I set up a recovery disk?
Hi folks,
My XPS One 2710 (operating Win 8) is only a few weeks old and a message popped up earlier today to prompt me to make a recovery disk to restore the computer to factory settings should anything go wrong. I didn't have a storage device ready, but I do now. How do I get to the recovery disk creation wizard?
Thanks.
Pauline.

Hi Pauline,
With Windows 8, the way to find anything is to search for it. So in the metro screen, just start typing recovery and I think you'll find it.
Here is a site that takes you through the process step by step.
Good luck with the new system!

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. I found it OK, but didn't realise how much memory creation of the recovery disk would take. In the end I ordered an appropriately sized memory stick, and now have it set up.
Thanks again for your advice.
Pauline.

Hi Pauline,
I think the flash drive approach is the best way to go. Good luck with your XPS One 2710!!
