How do you control fan speed on Dell desktop?

Hi,

Is there any way to control fan speed in Dell Desktop. I have Precision T5400 desktop and tried to use SpeedFan application but it did not do anything even though reported correct fan speeds. I'm running Windows 7 x64.

On most Dell desktops, you can't control fan speed with 3rd party software.

SpeedFan will only control fans on certain Dell laptops, but you have to check the box to use an extra plug-in for that. Do not try the plug-in with a desktop. :emotion-5:

I recently picked up a T5400 for a bargain.

I also wanted to control the fan speeds and managed to get Speedfan 4.44 working correctly to control the 3 fans.

You can set Speedfan to monitor the temperatures of RAM, CPU cores, GPU, HDD. Each fan is seperately controllable too.

There is a bit to set up but once you get that done it works a treat.
