I need help with XPS 420 usb 2.0 ports

Hi, I have an XPS 420. Everytime i plug something into the usb ports at the back or the front, vindows vista gives me a message telling me that i have a large number of usb 2.0 port available and the hardware would go faster if i plugged it into one of them. I have 6 ports on the back and 2 on the front all acting as usb 1.0, so where are the usb 2.0 ports? Do i have to configure my system somehow to change the present usb 1.0 to usb 2.0?

Mine work fine, you could try to download & install the latest chipset drivers here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/16026/a08/infinst_autol.zip&DwnldId=16026&ProductID=1765&lang=eng to see if they sort it out. if that does not work it sounds like your usb controller is duff.
