Inspirion 3847 Power supply defective

My 3847 is only good 2 years old and the power supply is defective.
I have already read here in the forum, which should work a standard power supply. Before I get a new one: The 4pin Atx connector from the Dell power supply has 2 brown and 2 black cables
and not as usual 2 yellow and 2 black cables.
I'm not sure about the compatibility standards.
Is it safe to use a standard power supply?

EVGA Super Nova B1 works fine B2 BQ does not.

Antec EA650 also works for specific versions that have 160W on the 3.3v 5v rails.

EVGA Super nova 700B1 or 750B1 works fine.

B2 and G2 series do not.

The issue with working or not has to do with the 3.3v power supply on the X16 slots and 150W max combined power on the 3.3v and 5v rails.

THE EA-650 has versions that work and versions that do not

Again the issue is the 3.3v/5v  max power.

On this model the max is 160W
