Inspiron 20-3052, Bios update, computer will not do anything

So I upgraded my bios because the dell update assistant said I had an update. So now my Dell Inspiron 20 model 3052 will not do anything. The power light comes on and that is it. It stays orange. I have downloaded the iso for it. But even the repair disk isn't working. I have no idea what to even do.

Some send out "WannaCry", others send out BIOS upgrades.:emotion-1:

LOL.....that's funny shelquis. I'm still sitting here typing on a tablet, sharing the fact that I'm no closer to getting my computer back after dell broke it. Despite all the "take your computer apart and remove the coin battery" then by some miracle get the thing put back together the it was before dell broke it with their update.  Also the other "ctrl + esc" trick didn't work. Still got a broke paper weight!  GET IT FIXED DELL!!!!

The struggle is real.. I'm sitting here on my old Toshiba laptop which is nearly 10 years old. Will have to settle for this thing until Dell comes up with a fix or otherwise replaces my bricked computer.

This sort of thing has been going on a long time. Here's a post from 2013 answers.microsoft.com/.../d56baa97-dfb5-4ae5-a2a1-18928c40d690

Add me to the list Dell Inspiron 20 model 3052 updated on the weekend woke up to a solid amber/orange light and a dead computer. Contacted Dell on facebook and this is what I was told "The updates Dell releases don’t affect the system. But it would enhance the performance of the system" ummmm no....if they broke they need to fix it....

My 3052 has also been bricked. Let's hope Dell fixes it for free; the Dell Update software that was prepackaged, might I say, reminded me to update constantly. So I did... Well, I am not very happy with the update, so 2 stars out of 5.

Maybe Microsoft is partly to blame for this. The earlier version of Windows 10 was full of vulnerabilities, and all kinds of malware was able to sneak in. The recent update to Windows 10 fixed most of that, but it was like locking the proverbial barn door. The malware was already there.

We still don't know if Dell was the actual source of the update.

I'm sorry, but operating system update (Windows 7,8,10) doesn't have anything to do with what we're seeing.

Today new BIOS was released, may be a coincidence, may be not.

Just spoke with Dell, they are working on a fix for this.  It had to do with an update for the Ransom ware attack.  They are in hopes of having a fix within 24 to 48 hours.  Mine is a 3052 as well.

Great news!! I just got off the phone with Dell tech support.  They are going to replace the motherboard free.  They are sending me the box to send it to them.  It is going to take a couple of weeks, but at least I don't have to pay for it.

This happened to me on Monday with my Inspiron 20-3052 All-in-One at work. I am the Tech Specialist at my school and had to call in someone else to look at it and he could not repair it. The amber light remains constant but nothing else works. I was told there was no warranty and the cost to replace motherboard would be $339 upfront. If this is an issue with the update, why should the consumer have to pay regardless of warranty? They have been emailing about repair but budget constraints won't allow this. I am using my personal laptop for my work now. Not something I like.

Lawoakhill, was your computer still under warranty? Also, do they want your entire computer or just the motherboard?
