Inspiron 3650, memory upgrades
Well have not opened it yet. It came with 8GB Single channel DDR3L 1600 MHz (8GBX1). I know it has two slots and would I be guessing correctly by the 8GBX1 that it has 8GB in one slot and the other slot is empty? Was wanting to upgrade to 16GB.

Most likely a single 8GB stick (VR648 8GB,1600,2RX8,4G,DDR3L,U).
* Install and run CPUz
* Click the SPD tab. Below that will be Memory Slot Selection. It will show you what memory is installed in what slots

You can buy the memory you need here:

This is the exact memory upgrade you want to install since Dell systems work best with crucial memory sticks.

Cpuz says ddr3 instead of ddr3L since they are exactly the same except ddr3L modules at low voltage. The motherboard uses low voltage modules but looks like cpuz won't actually tell you that information.

The system can support up to 16gb . Non-ECC dual-channel 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM which you can get here.

Interesting. It does appear to be one stick but says it is 8GB DDR3. There is no L. I want to make sure I order the right stick as I saw a post from another individual that wanted DDR3L and was sent DDR3 and it did not get recognized by computer.

Yes, I know that. Just wondering why the program Chris M mentioned shows it as DDR3 and not DDR3L?
