Inspiron 3650 upgrade
I recently got the Inspiron 3650 desktop, and I'm thinking about upgrading it. After some research, I found this thread.
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19657974
I want to build a setup where the PSU is outside of the case. This is the first time I'm doing this kind of stuff, so I wanted to make sure what i'm doing is right.
All I need is
EVGA supernova 550 G2
GTX 750 Ti
Dell 24-Pin to 8-Pin adapter
Is this correct?

Dell support will tell u it's not suggested to use any other psu other then the supplied psu because it will cause capacitors to fail and ultimately cut your pc life in half

Dell says to use the 240 watt psu that came with it or it'll kill capacitors and give ur pc half the lifespan
