Inspiron 531s won't boot

This morning, I turned on my Inspiron 531s, and the light came on, but nothing else happened.  I tried turning it off a couple of times, but still nothing.  The first time, the power light was blue and I was getting double beeps.  Now the power light is amber in color and there is no beep.  Help!  My Inspiron is no longer under warranty, so if the issue is something major, I probably won't want to spend a fortune to fix it.  I would appreciate any suggestions!
