Inspiron 5675, dual monitor connection problems

I want to use both of my monitors on my new 5675, but when l plug in using 1 hdmi port and 1 display port only the hdmi works.

I have tried different display ports with the same result.  I only have 1 hdmi and the rest are all display ports.

Why can't l get my second monitor working?

Well after lots of checking and talking with Dell and Benq l finally found the problem,  the lead that was supplied with the monitor was faulty, so new lead everything is working perfectly.

So there was no problem with the PC it has been working correctly all along.  Thank you to Dell support for helping me to track down the problem, should've checked this much sooner.  Just goes to show check you have petrol before you pull the engine out.

Contented customer at last.

p.s. thanks to all who answered with suggestions and I hope to return the favor one day.

Cheers.

Are you using on-board video or do you have an add-in video card?

On-board video may only support one monitor at a time. If you have an add-in video card, which will be below the on-board video ports, you should connect both monitors to the add-in card.

We need more information from you to assist.

Based on your description, you do have an added video card installed below the colored audio jacks. BOTH monitors should be connected to the added video card. The Inspiron 5675 Desktop sold with several video options. Which one is installed in your system? Check your Dell invoice.

I have the JTPTC AMD Radeon RX580, 8GB, PCIe 3.0, 160w, DP1.2/DP1.2/DP1.2/HDMI, card.

I have 1 monitor connected and working via the HDMI port.  However when I connect to the Display ports l get not signal error.

A bit more information on my monitors I have 1 Benq-xl2430 24" Zowie. The other is Samsung S22B350.

The Benq has a Display Port connection and is new, but when I tried it only get no signal error. The Samsung works fine on the HDMI but has no Display port input.

This is very annoying having just purchased the pc and the new Benq knowing that the pc had only 1 HDMI I specifically purchased the Benq  knowing it had the display port compatibility.

* Turn the Inspiron 5675 and both monitors off
* Disconnect ALL monitor cabling from the Inspiron 5675
* Connect ONLY the Benq-XL2430 to the Inspiron 5675 AMD Radeon RX580
Inspiron 5675 AMD Radeon RX580 DP out port --> DP to DP cable --> Benq-XL2430 DP in port
* Turn the Benq-XL2430 on, then the Inspiron 5675. What happens?
* Turn all off and test the other two DP out ports on the AMD Radeon RX580. What happens?

I followed your instructions for the three display ports, nothing happens the Benq does nothing except to bring up no signal error.

Any other suggestions?
