No, the Inspiron 580 will only support Core i3 and Core i5 processors. en.community.dell.com/.../19428052

None. Two different sockets. Inspiron 580 is LGA1156, 4th Gen is LGA1150.

I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 580 from an Intel Pentium G6950 CPU to an Intel Core i5-750 CPU. The I5-750 doesn't have onboard video, so you must also add a separate PCI video card. I added an Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS video card.

I am using Bios ver A07 and Windows 10 x64. Works great. I also have 12gb of ram (2x4gb) and (2x2gb). The 2gb dimms are in dimm slots 1 and 3. The 4gb dimms are in dimm slots 2 and 4.
