Inspiron 620 BIOS upgrade ??
My Inspiron 620 is running BIOS level A02 (dated 7/2011). Apparently there is a USB glitch which will not complete power on if more than 2 USB devices are attached before booting. Also only REAR USB ports work properly.
(1) has anyone else experienced this ?
(2) has it been corrected by BIOS update ?
(3) if so shd i risk updating to eliminate this annoyance (knowing Dell's poor reputation for support) ?
Thanx.

If you have antivirus software installed uninstall it and reboot at least 2 times after downloading the Bios Update. After its updated re-install your antivirus solution.
The INTEL Management Engine is required to install a bios update.
If you do not have the drivers for this installed bios updates will fail with a cryptic "ME not installed" error.

In Windows 7, look in Programs and Features control panel to see if Intel Management Engine Components is installed. If you have an old version or don't have it installed at all, download the software from Intel instead of Dell. Also note that versions 10 & higher of the Intel Management Engine Interface software require the KB2685811 update for Windows 7 to be installed.
I have version 11.0.6.1194 of Intel MEI installed on my family's Dell Inspiron 620 PC and have the latest 620 BIOS update, revision A10.
