Inspiron 620 Desktop no sound

I had to do a complete restoration and all went fine.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
When I tried to play some .mp3 files they won't play
in the Windows Media Player or the Real Player.
I downloaded the audio drivers for the sound and it
still doesn't work. The device manager says the audio
devices are: "High Definition Audio Device" and I have
two of those in there.
When I try to play an .mp3 in Windows Media Player it
says this:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a
problem with your sound device."
When we got the computer from Dell, the sound was working
fine.
Please help.
Thanks

Why would Microsoft tell you that your sound is messed up if you didn't plug  a plug into the audio port?
