Inspiron 620 Max Processor Upgrade
I have an Inspiron 620 with i5-2320 from 2012 (Sandy bridge and ivy bridge support). Can I go to any processor that supports LGA 1155 (e.g., i7)? What do you recommend? What is my Mobo model even?

The board is proprietary to Dell and that model -- it looks like it's no to i7, and among the i5 CPUs, only Sandy Bridge (second generation - models starting with "2" -- will work.
Processor Support Socket LGA 1155. (Sandy Bridge)
* Intel Core i5- 2500, 2320, 2310, 2300
(in other words you're close to the max now - going to an i5-2500 isn't going to be anywhere near worth the cost or trouble).

ejn63 is correct, not worth upgrading. The i5-2500 was not tested by Dell. Below are all of the i5 CPU supported on the Inspiron 620 desktop =

Although the Intel i5-2500 was not tested by Dell, it should work but may require a BIOS update.
Install the latest BIOS update for the Dell Inspiron 620 desktop PC (which my family also uses), which is revision A10 released in summer of 2013 before upgrading the CPU.
Also there's an i5-2500K CPU but that one has integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 instead of Intel HD Graphics 2000 (but still a Sandy Bridge based one) that can be overclocked but may require a stronger PSU for it to work [there's a difference between 2500 and 2500-K].
And remember that the Dell Inspiron 620 can not handle Ivy Bridge CPUs like the i5-3000 series (ex. i5-3570K). Someone who also had a Dell Inspiron 620 mentioned in this old Tomshardware.com forum page attempted to install an i5-3570k processor and the Inspiron 620 computer would not boot up at all.
