Insprion 537S Powers off in a few minutes no matter what settings I use in Power Management
Hi Guys

My Dell 537S running Vista 64 bit Home will power off or sleep in just a few minutes when left idle.

Despite my attempts to set power management to 1 hours for Monitor and Computer it still goes into deep slumber.

To get it back I have to press the power button for a ten count and then reboot.

How may I fix this?

Thank you

This sounds like more than just the power management settings.  It sounds like a hardware (or software) problem in the PC.  I assume it's still in warranty and the best option would be to call Dell support.

One thing to try is select the Balanced option then change all the settings to "never" and see if it still hangs up.  If it does that is a definate indicator of a problem that should be handled by Dell support, since it's still in warranty and in case there is a defective part.
