Unfortunately it isn't so simply. As I mention before, I checked this mouse on Win7 64bit. Also few times I ran driver update in Device Manager. Nothing was helpful.
Have you any other clues? Although this is Dell, I'm almost convinced to put this mouse to blender :)
I have got exactly same problem. I bought KM 636 few weeks ago and it has been never working properly. I tested it on 3 machines (two notebooks and one PC) and on different windows versions. In any case the same problem.
Have any of you gone into Device Manager and changed the settings on the Power Management tab for each USB root hub, so the box "Allow PC to turn off..." is not checked for all root hubs?
Then do the same thing in Device Manager for any entries under Human Interface Devices that also have a Power Management tab.
Finally, open the Windows Power options page, select the current power plan and navigate to Advanced options. On that screen select USB Settings>USB Selective Suspend and disable it. Save the change, if prompted.
I tried all you pointed out and the problem still there. I installed Dell Control Receptor Painel and I saw that sometimes, the scroll do not activate the mouse, the status continues “inactive” while scrolling up and down, after about 5 seconds scrolling it changes to “active”.
continuing...the manual says that what wake the mouse is "Move or Click", nothing about scrolling, what is a big mistake because when you are reading you suppose to up or down the page, not move or click.
I'm sorry to inform you, that probably there is no easy solution. As you can see, none of above answers was helpful (neverless thanks for the effort).
There is only one solution. Return keyboard to shop as fast you can, as I did few months ago. Since last 6 month I use other brand, problems dissapears.

Note that this KB combo is certified for windows 7--not 10. Let Windows 10 Device Manager update the drivers and see if that works.

Hi again,
I'd like to ask, if is any chance to get some answer from Dell Support team? Is it normal behavior for such mouse?

Hi,
I've just bought the KM636. The same problem with mouse wheel - scroll is blocking. Very disappointing.
Have you found any solution?

There are no solution. The Dell silence on this post speaks for itself.
