i have a question can anyone tell me if a ata 2TB hard drive will be compatible with my dell dimensions 3000

Hi victoriascott34,
The maximum hard drive that has been tested and that went with these systems are 160 GB, 2 TB is too much for this system to handle. This is also a very old system model and such upgrades may cause compatibility issues.

Hi victoriascott34,
Your Dimension 3000 requires an IDE, not SATA, hard drive. There is no such thing as a 2TB IDE hard drive. About the largest size available is 500GB, which is definitely compatible with your system.

Yes, it will support 2tb and even 3tb hard drives, but you'll need to add a third party SATA adapter.
I can recommend the Syba 150R for the 3000 from personal experience. To retain use of the hard drive activity LED, you'll need either to reroute your existing hard drive activity LED cable or replace it with something like this.
