Memory compatibility with Inspiron 560?
Hi,
Are G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) (F3-8500CL7D-8GBRL) compatible with Inspiron 560?
Based on the recommendation in http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19524134.aspx, I bought these, but I get double beep error code, which corresponds to "No RAM". I've seated them correctly, so installation was not a problem.
Perhaps Inspiron 560 cannot house a 4GB rams?

Hi NewDaddy,
Dell Inspiron 560 offers two memory module sizes that can be used in memory slots: 1 GB and 2 GB. These offerings allow memory configurations as follows:

Hi. Thanks for the specs, but what about memory speeds? In the market now are DDR3 1600Mhz or PC12800? This are compatible?

4GB Kit (2x2GB) Memory RAM Upgrade for Dell Inspiron 560 (DDR3-1333MHz 240-pin DIMM)
It has 4 SLOTS AND 8 GIGS MAX RAM. MAX DIMM SIZE IS 2 GIGS NOT 4 OR 8.
MAX RAM IS 8 NOT 16 OR 32 GIGS.
Specific DDR3 1600 dimms work fine.
DDR3 1600 11-11-11-28 timing
You cannot use ECC or REGISTERED or buffered or QUAD rank high density ram.
