Motherboard replacement

I have old Dimension 4600 having E210882 motherboard and AA label says C23438-404. The board has been dead and I am going to replace it. But on eBay I could find few mobos with C23438-502 or C23438-500. Are they valid replacement? What is difference?

E210882  is a UL Listing not a motherboard part number. Nor are they DELL part numbers.

Those are not Dell part numbers so I cannot speak to them. The Dell motherboard part numbers for the 13 year old Dimension 4600 are =
HY008, Northwood CPUs
XM970, Prescott CPUs

But finding them on the internet may be an issue.

My MB has CN-0N2828-48111-3AT-xxxx and AA C23438-404 Rev A01.

Candidate MB has CN-0N2828-4811-3AG-03M3 and AA C23438-403 Rev A01.

Is it good candidate?

Yes, the N2828 - has integrated graphics, works with or without the AGP graphics card.

Personally I would buy the F4491 motherboard, because it will support up to a 3.4Ghz Northwood or Prescott processor and has integrated graphics

Thanks for links.

My last question is: what is AA label information for? You can see small difference between mine and candidate motherboards.

My understanding is, the AA number is for the motherboard's version.
