My desktop didn't come with a recovery disc
I need to reformat my PC. I've had it for almost two years.
I just did a Vista update that completely messed up my computer, and now it won't connect to anything or open any o my programs.
I tried system restore, but I got an alert telling me that there were no restore points (which makes sense to me because in the two year span that I've had it, the computer has never let me create a restore point. I always got an error message.)
It didn't come with a recovery disc. Is there any way for someone like me, who isn't incredibly knowledgable when it comes to computers, to reformat my computer without a recovery disc?

It helps to included the computer model in the post.
Unless you have a PC Restore feature installed on your PC, you need the Dell Reinstallation disc, to perform a manual reinstall of windows, that includes formatting the hard drive.
You can request backup discs containing the factory installed operating system as well as the device drivers and utilities specific to your system from HERE.
