Need Help Installing GE Optical Wireless Mouse

I'm not very good at this stuff, and after looking at some of the messages on this board, figured I need help.  I have a GE wireless optical mouse I'd like install, replacing my wired standard mouse which came with my Dimension 4550. What are the steps I must follow ?- please be specific as far as the software and/or drivers I have in uninstall. The  instructions say to uninstall the current mouse drivers first.   If I do that, how do I install anything without the use of a mouse?

I'd appreciate any help I can get.
