New Dell XPS 8300 owner

Hi there,

I got my new PC last week so far Im happy with it, but just curious about a couple of things.

1) - How do I know my PC does not have the Sandy Bridge bug.

2) - Ive heard that some machines only comes with 3 Gbit/s SATA and not 6 Gbit/s, how can I find out that I have 6 Gbit/s SATA.

3) - Why is there no accoustic management option in the BIOS, my bios is A04.

Thanks

Germinator.

If your motherboard is a 0Y2MRG then the white and blue SATA ports are SATA III.  You can download CPUZ and it will give you the motherboard model and will also tell you if you have the current chipset for Sandy Bridge.  On the first screen of CPUZ in the middle there is a box for revision.  If it says D2 then you do not have the defective chipset.  Click on the mainboard tab and the model of you motherboard is displayed.

My mistake.  It's revision B3 on the motherboard screen.
