New hard drive. Now what?
I have an Inspirion 2330 One that I purchased about 18 months ago. The hard drive completely died, and when I ran the diagnostics and looked up the error code, the Dell site said that the hard drive was indeed gone and I needed a new hard drive. I purchased a new hard drive and installed it (thanks Youtube), but I don't have a recovery disc and the website tells me that Dell can't send me one. How do I recover my computer?

Now is when you need the recovery disks/thumb drive that you made 18 months ago. That was the first thing you should have done. An alternative is to buy Windows 10 that is available tomorrow--July 29th. It will cost you ~$100 for the Home version but look for special promotions. Much better than windows 8.
