No Audio

I recently reformatted my hard-drive on my XPS/Dimension 400/9150 with Windows XP Media Center Edition. I then attempted to install the drivers, all of them went smoothly except audio. The Dell Resource CD came with SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio driver; however, when I attempted to install it, it claimed to not be compatible with my system.

A friend told me that I should be able to find the make and model of my sound card in the device manager, but in Sound, video and game controllers the only items listed are:

Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device
Video Codecs

I'm not sure which drivers I need to install, but everything I've tried so far has been unsuccessful. Anyone know which drivers I need, or why the drivers that came with my computer aren't compatible with my system? Everything else on my computer seems to be working fine.

-Thanks, fbh

Yet again, it tells me "This system does not support the driver you are attempting to install."

Is there something I need to download before installing my audio drivers?
